Спасо-Преображенский собор

The Savior-Transfiguration Cathedral is an Orthodox building with Russian-Byzantine architecture located at the heart of Nikopol. Its design features five domes and three naves that create a spacious interior for gatherings.

Construction began in 1866 on the site of a former Vasilian church and was completed in 1874. Architects Rakhau, Gibert, and Shalamov oversaw this ambitious project to establish a new religious center.

The cathedral is dedicated to the Transfiguration and houses paintings by academician Mikhail Vasyliev throughout its interior. These artworks reflect the religious and artistic importance that was placed on the building from its creation.
