Trebah, Tropical garden in Mawnan, Cornwall, England.
Trebah is a subtropical garden set within a wooded ravine, covering approximately 10 hectares and containing exotic plants, bamboo groves, and tree ferns. Pathways wind through different planting zones down toward a private beach on the Helford River.
The garden took shape during the 1800s as successive owners shaped its character and planting scheme. This gradual development eventually resulted in its recognition as a Grade II listed site.
The gardens are maintained by a local trust that organizes cultural events and workshops throughout the year. Visitors encounter performances and exhibitions at various spots, particularly in the amphitheater nestled within the natural landscape.
The garden can be explored via several kilometers of pathways, many of which are step-free and accommodate mobility scooters. A visitor center on-site offers dining facilities and a gift shop for a complete visit.
A natural spring feeds the Koi Pool and continues flowing past giant gunnera plants throughout the garden. This watercourse creates a permanent water feature that shapes the surrounding planting scheme.
