Darke County, County in western Ohio, United States.

Darke County extends across 600 square miles of land near the Indiana border, making it the seventh largest county in Ohio.

Named after William Darke, a Revolutionary War officer, this administrative division was established in 1817 as part of the state's western expansion.

The National Register of Historic Places features 25 locations within Darke County, including the County Courthouse and Sheriff's House.

The county offices provide residents with various services such as public health assistance, marriage licenses, building permits, and auto title transfers.

The county shifted from supporting Democratic candidates before 1912 to maintaining Republican preferences in presidential elections after 1940.
