Gardenview Horticultural Park, Botanical garden in Strongsville, United States.
Gardenview Horticultural Park is a 16-acre botanical garden with themed gardens displaying a diverse plant collection. The grounds feature flowering crabapples, tulips, azaleas, and around 1,500 tuberous begonias arranged across different garden sections.
The park was established in 1949 when a wild lot overgrown with blackberry brambles was transformed into a cultivated garden. It opened to the public in 1961.
The English Cottage Gardens section displays plants with colored foliage arranged in traditional British style, reflecting how European gardening principles have been adapted and maintained here. Walking through these formal beds shows the influence of classical garden design on American horticultural practices.
The park is accessible from spring through fall and features wide pathways for comfortable strolling through the gardens. Visitors should wear sturdy shoes and bring sun protection or rain gear depending on the season.
The park holds an extraordinary collection of around 2,500 trees, including 500 varieties of flowering crabapples with daffodils planted beneath their canopies. This combination demonstrates a carefully planned understory that few gardens offer.
