Wolfeboro

Wolfeboro sits along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Wentworth, featuring colonial-era buildings and stone structures clustered in its downtown. The waterfront and surrounding neighborhoods contain shops, restaurants, and equipment rental facilities mixed throughout.

Governor Benning Wentworth granted the town charter in 1759 and named it after General James Wolfe, who led British troops during the French and Indian War. The founding established an early settlement along the lakes that later became a trading hub.
