Orange is a town in New Haven County located in southwestern Connecticut, covering roughly 17 square miles of land. It shares borders with Milford, West Haven, New Haven, and the Housatonic River.
The land that became Orange was purchased from the Paugusset Indians in 1639 and was initially part of the Milford colony. It was formally established as an independent town in 1822.
