Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baseball stadium in downtown Baltimore, United States.
Oriole Park at Camden Yards is a baseball stadium in downtown Baltimore, United States. The red brick exterior extends along several city blocks, while the historic B&O Railroad warehouse lines the entire length of right field.
The stadium opened in 1992 as the first major modern sports facility in the United States to deliberately incorporate classic design elements from the early 20th century. Its design inspired the construction of similar facilities in other North American cities over the following two decades.
The name Oriole Park comes from the bird featured on the Baltimore Orioles team logo, while Camden Yards recalls the old railroad workshops that once shaped the site. Throughout the facility, references to railroad history appear, from the tracks to the late 19th-century style brick architecture.
The stadium is best visited on game days, when the stands fill and the atmosphere feels most alive. The entrance through Eutaw Street allows a direct view of the historic warehouse and leads to the inner concourse with numerous food stands.
Between the stands and the historic warehouse runs Eutaw Street, which remains open to visitors during home games, offering an unusual public walkway through the stadium grounds. Small brass plates mark the exact spots on the pavement where balls have landed on the street during official games.
