Waterside Plaza is a residential complex with four red brick towers and townhouses situated directly along the East River in Manhattan. The development contains roughly 1,470 residential units and includes public spaces, a supermarket, and a health club.

The complex was built on landfill that arrived as ship ballast from Bristol, England following World War II bombardments. This unusual foundation shaped how the site was constructed and its connection to postwar recovery.

The place hosts summer gatherings where people come together for outdoor concerts and film screenings that shape community life. These events create shared moments that bring residents and visitors into the neighborhood's open spaces.

The complex is accessible via a footbridge at East 25th Street that crosses over FDR Drive, connecting easily to the rest of Manhattan. On-site parking is available for those arriving by car.

The buildings rest on platforms supported by over 2,000 concrete piles driven into the East River bed below. This engineering solution shows the complexity required to construct stable housing on what was once wetland and landfill.
