Cheers Beacon Hill, Restaurant in Beacon Hill, Boston, US.

Cheers Beacon Hill is a restaurant in Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood housed inside Hampshire House. The space stretches across several floors with dark wood paneling, brass fittings, and English pub-style furniture throughout.

The establishment opened in 1969 as Bull & Finch Pub and served as the exterior backdrop for a television series in the early 1980s. The name changed in 2002 after an agreement with broadcaster NBC.

The television series about a Boston bar made this building world-famous, though only the exterior appeared in the opening credits. Inside, framed photos and props recall the show, and visitors from around the globe come here to see the place they recognize from their screens.

The place sits at 84 Beacon Street across from Boston Public Garden and serves American pub fare such as burgers, sandwiches, and New England clam chowder. The entrance faces the street, and the dining rooms occupy several floors, so expect to walk up or down stairs depending on where seats are available.

The street in front of the entrance was renamed after Eddie Doyle, a bartender who worked here for years before the television series began. His name now appears on a sign that recalls the earlier days of the establishment.
