Sion Hill, Federal mansion in Havre de Grace, United States.
The three-part brick structure features a five-bay central block with two wings and large chimneys facing the Chesapeake Bay.
Construction began in 1785 for Reverend John Ireland as a seminary, but the unfinished property was sold to Gideon Denison in 1795.
The residence belonged to Commodore John Rodgers and his descendants, a prominent family of United States Navy officers spanning multiple generations.
The property encompasses 315 acres of land with views of the Chesapeake Bay and maintains its original central hall floor plan.
In 1911, Ensign John Rodgers made history at this location by becoming the first person in America to visit parents by airplane.
