Steel Venom

Steel Venom is a steel coaster at Valleyfair amusement park that propels riders to high speed through linear motors before sending them up two vertical spikes. The ride uses seven-car trains that hold 28 passengers across two rows.

The ride was built by manufacturer Intamin and opened at Valleyfair in 2003. Its arrival brought a new type of acceleration-based thrill to the park's collection.

This coaster introduced local park visitors to a completely new type of thrill experience with its sudden acceleration and vertical elements. It changed how people in the region think about what modern rides can do.
