Morristown, County seat in northeastern Tennessee, United States.

Morristown is a city in Hamblen County and Jefferson County in northeastern Tennessee, sitting in a valley between Clinch Mountain and the Great Smoky Mountains. The area around it is shaped by nearby Cherokee Lake, while the downtown spreads at an elevation of roughly 397 meters (1302 feet).

Gideon Morris founded the settlement in 1787, and it later became a site of clashes between Union and Confederate troops during 1864. The town grew into a trading center for surrounding farms in the late 19th century.

The Rose Center organizes the Mountain Makin's Festival each October, where visitors can see regional craftwork and meet local artisans. The event showcases traditional skills passed down through generations in the Appalachian region.

The town sits between two mountain ranges and works well as a starting point for hikes or trips to Cherokee Lake. The downtown is walkable, and many shops and restaurants line the main streets.

The reconstructed birthplace of Davy Crockett now stands as a museum showing frontier life in the late 18th century. Visitors can see the original log cabin construction and tools from that period.
