James Farley Post Office, Post office in Midtown Manhattan, United States
The James Farley Post Office spans two city blocks with a rectangular structure made of Indiana limestone and features twenty monumental Corinthian columns.
The building opened in 1914 as the Pennsylvania Terminal, designed by McKim, Mead & White architects, and received its current name in 1982.
The facility served as a processing center for military mail during World War II, connecting soldiers overseas with their families in the United States.
The post office connects to the Moynihan Train Hall, providing access to Amtrak services and retail spaces while maintaining postal operations.
The structure contains 165,000 cubic feet of pink granite, 18,000 tons of steel, and 7 million bricks in its construction.
