Eventi, Skyscraper in Chelsea, Manhattan, US
Eventi is a 46-story glass and steel tower on Sixth Avenue in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. The lower floors house a hotel with its own entrance, while the upper floors contain residential apartments accessed through a separate entrance on the same block.
The tower was designed by Perkins Eastman and built between 2006 and 2010 by J.D. Carlisle Development Corporation. It went up during a period when Chelsea was shifting away from its industrial past toward a more mixed and modern character.
The two separate entrances, one for the hotel and one for the apartments, make it easy to see how different groups of people share the same building without ever crossing paths. This quiet division shapes the feel of the lobby area and the rhythm of daily life inside.
The building stands on Sixth Avenue between West 29th and West 30th Streets, within easy walking distance of several subway lines. Herald Square and a wide range of shops and restaurants are just a short walk away, making the location convenient for most visitors.
Although the building contains both a hotel and apartments, guests and residents never share the same elevators or hallways, as the two uses are kept entirely separate inside. This level of separation was unusual for New York at the time and is still visible in the way the ground floor is laid out.
