Town of Westport

Westport is a town in Essex County, New York, that stretches along Lake Champlain and offers direct access to water activities. The area also features forests and mountain trails for hiking and outdoor recreation.

William Gilliland founded the town in 1764, but the early settlement was destroyed during the American Revolutionary War. The community rebuilt itself afterward and grew into a stable town.
