Grand Isle State Park

Grand Isle State Park extends across 226 acres of land along Lake Champlain, featuring wooded areas, open spaces, and 4,150 feet of shoreline.

The park began operations in 1959 through the acquisition of 54 acres from Birchcliff resort, which included various structures such as cabins and a recreation hall.

The nature center conducts educational programs that inform visitors about the local environment, wildlife, and natural features of Lake Champlain region.

The park maintains 115 tent sites, 36 lean-to areas, 4 cabins, flush toilets, showers, and a boat ramp for water access to Lake Champlain.

The current nature center building stands as the final remaining structure from the original Birchcliff resort that preceded the state park establishment.
