Bramble Park Zoo

Bramble Park Zoo spans 18 acres and holds roughly 800 animals representing 130 species from different regions and climates around the world. The grounds feature habitat areas that bring together creatures from varied environments into one space.

Frank Bramble founded the zoo in 1912 by donating pheasants and birds, creating the earliest version of the site. The facility moved to its current location in 1940 through a WPA construction project.

The Lake Area Zoological Society has shaped this place since 1972 through educational programs and wildlife conservation work that visitors can experience. These efforts have made the zoo a center for learning about animals and nature in the region.

The zoo is located at 800 10th Street NW in Watertown and operates year-round with extended hours during summer months from late May through early September. Plan your visit with seasonal hours in mind, as summer offers longer daily access.

The Terry Redlin Environmental Center features aquariums and small animal exhibits connected to the main Discovery Center building for closer learning experiences. These specialized spaces allow visitors to see creatures up close in controlled indoor settings.
