Bryn Du Mansion

Bryn Du Mansion is a Georgian-Federal style building with 52 rooms located on a 52-acre estate in eastern Ohio. The house contains 12 fireplaces and sits among formal gardens and outbuildings that complete the property.

The property was originally built in 1865 as an Italianate villa and later purchased by John Sutphin Jones, who transformed it in 1905. Architect Frank Packard designed the current Georgian-Federal appearance of the building.

The mansion served as a gathering place where notable performers entertained guests and dignitaries stayed. Its rooms reflect a lifestyle centered on music, social events, and refined entertaining.

The estate is open year-round and available for various events including weddings, meetings, and gatherings. Visitors should check ahead for tour availability, as the property operates primarily for organized events.

The sandstone used to build the house came from quarries located directly on the property grounds. This local building material creates a special connection between the structure and the land it occupies.
