Burnet Woods is a public park spanning 89 acres with dense forest areas, walking trails, and an artificial lake for nature observation. The land features different terrain types that allow visitors to explore various natural settings throughout their visit.
Cincinnati acquired this land in 1872 as the foundation for the park, with additional purchases expanding it over the following decades. The property gradually transformed from separate parcels into the connected recreation area it is today.
The Trailside Nature Center here houses the Wolff Planetarium and serves as a gathering place for learning about local wildlife and ecosystems. Visitors come to connect with nature and participate in educational programs throughout the year.
Access points are available from Martin Luther King Drive, Bishop Street, and Clifton Avenue, with parking areas near the main entrances. Multiple access roads allow visitors to enter from different locations depending on which sections they want to explore.
The Richardson Monument is constructed from 84 tons of pink granite salvaged from a former commerce building and stands at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive. This distinctive landmark connects the city's architectural past with the park's present landscape.
