Cape Canaveral Light, Historic lighthouse in Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, United States.
Cape Canaveral Light is a white conical tower that rises 151 feet (46 meters) and features black stripes visible from both land and sea. The structure sits within a military installation where it continues to function as a working navigation aid.
The lighthouse was built in 1848 and relocated inland between 1893 and 1894 due to coastal erosion threatening its original site. It has remained at this location on military property ever since, continuing to serve navigation purposes.
The lighthouse represents a bridge between maritime navigation and space exploration, serving both sailors and the space program. Visitors can see how this place connects two very different worlds in one location.
Visits require advance registration at least four days before your trip, as the lighthouse sits on a military installation. Tours are only available through official guides who manage access to the site.
This is the only fully operational lighthouse managed by the United States Space Force. The unusual combination shows how a civilian navigation aid continues to serve its purpose within a space-focused military base.
