Chauncey L. Williams Residence

The Chauncey L. Williams Residence is a single-family home with a steeply pitched roof and wide overhangs, set upon a shallow base of Roman brick and plaster. Natural boulders frame the arched entryway and line the property edge, creating a defined arrival experience.

Frank Lloyd Wright designed this house in 1895 as one of his earliest residential projects in the Chicago region. This work signaled a new direction in American domestic architecture and laid the groundwork for his later career.
