Dance Place

Dance Place is a performance theater in Washington with multiple studios, performance spaces, and instructional areas across its campus. The facility offers classes in various dance styles including modern, African, and hip hop for both children and adults.

The organization relocated from the Adams Morgan neighborhood to its current Edgewood location in 1986. At that point, the building was purchased and renovated to establish a permanent home for operations.

The venue hosts dance performances year-round and collaborates with local artists and resident dance companies. These partnerships create space for different artistic voices and perspectives within the neighborhood.

The facility offers classes for different age groups and skill levels, with the option to participate in individual sessions without long-term commitment. Visitors can join flexibly based on their interests and availability.

The Creative Education Center runs specialized programs for youth during the school year and operates a summer camp for children from low-income households. These offerings make artistic education accessible to communities that might otherwise have limited opportunities.
