Delhi Metropark, Public park near Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States.
Delhi Metropark is a public park along the Huron River in Michigan spanning 53 acres with picnic areas, playgrounds, softball diamonds, and fishing spots. The park also provides canoe rentals and trails through wooded sections with views of historic mill structures from its past.
A sawmill and flour mill operated at this location from 1835 when Norman Gooddale purchased and expanded the property into a major milling operation. The industrial operation shaped the area's development and left behind structures visible to visitors today.
The flour mills at Delhi supplied products to New England markets and provided employment for 20 people during the nineteenth century.
The canoe livery operates daily from May through Labor Day except Wednesdays, with weekend service in April, September, and October. Plan your visit during warmer months when all facilities are available and trails are easiest to navigate.
The remains of the old mill dam now form Delhi Rapids, connecting the park to its industrial past through a natural feature. This transformation shows how historic structures become part of the landscape over time.
