Delta Tau Delta Founders House

The Delta Tau Delta Founders House stands as a two-story brick building with five bays and limestone foundation at 211 Main Street in Bethany.

The construction of this Greek Revival structure in the early 1850s preceded the establishment of Delta Tau Delta fraternity between 1858 and 1859.

This property represents the origins of Delta Tau Delta, which emerged when students separated from the Neotrophian Society to form their own organization.

The building occupies 0.1 acres of land and maintains its status on the National Register of Historic Places through preservation efforts since 1979.

The first meeting of Delta Tau Delta took place in Jacob S. Lowe's room within this house, where members created the fraternity's constitution and symbols.
