Douglass House, Historic house in Mill Hill, Trenton, US.

Douglass House is a historic residence in Mill Hill at the corner of Front and Montgomery Streets. It features Colonial architecture with a white wooden exterior and period-appropriate details characteristic of the late 1700s.

The building served as General George Washington's headquarters before the Battle of Princeton in January 1777. It played a role in coordinating military operations during a turning point of the American Revolutionary War.

The house represents a connection between military strategy and local architecture, demonstrating the adaptation of residential buildings during the Revolutionary War period.

Access is generally available by advance arrangement through guided tours that require prior booking. Visitors should plan ahead and check conditions, as hours may be limited depending on the season.

The structure was moved from its original location in Mahlon Stacy Park near the Delaware River to its present spot in Mill Hill. This relocation preserved the building and allowed it to become a publicly accessible landmark.
