Trenton War Memorial, War memorial and performance theater in Downtown Trenton, United States.
The Trenton War Memorial is a war memorial with an integrated theater in downtown Trenton that accommodates over 1,800 people. The architecture blends Renaissance and Art Deco style elements across the spacious grounds, with interior spaces carefully designed for both performances and commemorations.
The memorial was built in 1930 to honor soldiers and sailors from Mercer County who served in World War I. A design competition selected Philadelphia architect Louis S. Kaplan to create the building.
The building functions as a gathering place where concerts, theater productions, and community events take place throughout the year. Visitors can experience how locals use the space to celebrate performances and connect with one another.
The venue is equipped with modern facilities following a comprehensive restoration completed in 1999. Accessibility improvements were made to ensure all visitors can navigate the space comfortably.
Commemorative plaques on the interior walls and inscriptions above the front entrance display the names and recognize the contributions of Trenton citizens. These individual memorials give the space personal meaning for visitors exploring their family connections.
