Dorsey Hall

The two-and-a-half-story building features stucco walls, a gable roof covered with asphalt shingles, and encompasses six bays across its facade.

The residence, constructed in 1798, originated from the Dorsey's Search land grant, which was initially patented by John Dorsey in the late seventeenth century.

The property remained under the ownership of the Dorsey family, recognized among Howard County's prominent early settlers, until the mid-nineteenth century.

Located at 5100 Dorsey Hall Drive, the structure now stands at the entrance of a business park without public access or identification signage.

The property transitioned from an extensive agricultural estate operated with slave labor to the subject of commercial development attempts in the 1960s.
