Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens

The 56-acre grounds contain more than 15 distinct garden areas featuring thousands of tagged plant species and trees from across the globe.

Established in 1980, this green space transformed agricultural fields into extensive gardens through continuous development and community involvement over four decades.

Educational workshops and guided tours provide opportunities for visitors to learn about plant species, gardening techniques, and environmental conservation methods.

Located at 3800 Arboretum Drive, the gardens remain open daily from sunrise to sunset throughout the year with no admission charge.

Three hundred dedicated volunteers maintain the entire facility, making it the largest volunteer-operated arboretum in the United States.
