Elks Temple Building
Elks Temple Building, Masonic temple in Cadillac, Michigan, United States.
The Elks Temple Building is a four-story structure with Classical Revival design in red brick and cream terra cotta details. Ground-level storefronts open onto the street, while upper floors contain dining facilities, lodge offices, and ceremonial spaces.
This lodge hall opened in 1911 as a new gathering place for the local Elks organization. It was recognized as a historic landmark by the National Register in 1988.
The building shows how fraternal organizations shaped community life in the early 1900s. Lodge members gathered here for ceremonies and social events that bonded them together.
The building stands out from its red brick facade and centered entrance with stairs. You can view the exterior details from the street, and interior access may be available during special events or organized tours.
The interior preserves original hardwood floors and wooden architectural details throughout its spaces. The fourth floor stands out for its ornate carved woodwork surrounding the central altar area.
