Casa del Congreso de Angostura

Casa del Congreso de Angostura is a two-story colonial building on the western side of Plaza Bolívar with balconies and period architectural details from the 1700s. It operates as a museum and historical archive, displaying Venezuelan paintings and furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries, including ornate chandeliers.

Simon Bolivar delivered his famous Angostura Address here on 15 February 1819, which led to the founding of Gran Colombia. This moment became pivotal in South America's independence movement.
