Tân An, Provincial capital in Long An, Vietnam.

Tân An extends across 81 square kilometers of low-lying terrain in the Mekong Delta region, comprising nine urban wards and five rural communes.

The French administration established Tân An as a provincial center in 1889 after dividing the larger Gia Định Province into four separate administrative regions.

Ward 1 functions as the administrative nucleus of Tân An, concentrating government offices, commercial establishments, and educational facilities within its boundaries.

The city connects directly to Ho Chi Minh City through National Highway 1A, allowing travelers to reach the metropolitan area within a 47-kilometer drive.

Three major waterways intersect at Tân An: the Vàm Cỏ Đông, Vàm Cỏ Tây, and Soài Rạp rivers, creating a natural transportation network.
