Lofotr Viking Museum, Historical museum in Borg, Norway.

The Lofotr Viking Museum in Borg is a reconstruction of a Viking dwelling that offers insights into life during the Viking Age. The building shows how people lived then, and various exhibits and activities illustrate their daily tasks and crafts.

Archaeological excavations in 1983 uncovered the remains of a Viking settlement here that was founded around 500 AD and inhabited for roughly 450 years. The findings reveal this was an important location ruled by a wealthy leader.

The place displays Norse traditions through craft demonstrations and storytelling that immerse visitors in daily Viking life. You can watch how people worked and lived during that time.

The location sits in a harsh climate in northern Norway and is accessible year-round, though summer provides better conditions for outdoor activities. Visitors should bring warm clothing and be prepared for changing weather.

This is the largest known Viking-era structure in Norway, and visitors can also explore two reconstructed Viking ships. These vessels were built using traditional techniques and show how Vikings traveled by sea.
