Hallingskarvet National Park, National park in Viken, Norway.
The Hallingskarvet plateau extends for 35 kilometers with precipices dropping 400 to 500 meters on the southern side of the national park.
The Norwegian government established Hallingskarvet National Park in December 2006 to protect the natural landscapes spanning across Hol, Ulvik, and Aurland municipalities.
The mountain paths include stone stairways constructed by Nepalese Sherpa workers, connecting different sections of the 450-square-kilometer protected area.
Visitors can access the park through various entry points from Geilo, using marked trails that accommodate different hiking levels throughout the seasons.
The northern section of the park contains glacial cirques and serves as one of the few habitats for Arctic foxes in southern Norway.
