Kampen Church

Kampen Church is a Gothic Revival church in Oslo built from brick with a copper-topped tower. The interior is defined by large stained glass windows that fill the sanctuary with colored light.

The church was completed in 1882 following a fire that damaged the neighborhood four years earlier. Reconstruction of the area was essential to restore the community after the disaster.

The interior features religious artwork from the 19th century that expresses Christian faith through its design and decoration. Visitors can observe how these pieces continue to shape the spiritual character of the space.

The church is open to visitors and can accommodate around 480 people in its interior space. Regular services and community events take place here, so checking opening times beforehand is helpful.

A marble Madonna sculpture by Knut Steen from 1992 greets visitors at the church entrance. This contemporary artwork creates an interesting contrast between historical architecture and modern artistic vision.
