Langgaardsløkken, Public park in Briskeby, Oslo, Norway
Langgaardsloekken is a public park in Briskeby that spreads across sloping ground with terraced gardens, walking paths, and large trees arranged across the landscape. The park uses the natural hillside to create different levels that divide the space into distinct sections.
The area came from a loop that was separated from Frogner estate and purchased by Mads Langaard in 1874. The Frydenlunds brewery that followed shaped how the place developed during that period.
A preserved bowling alley building from the 1800s stands along Briskebyveien, showing what recreational activities meant to people in that era. The structure remains visible today as part of the park's everyday landscape.
The park is open year-round for public enjoyment while a main building houses the Norwegian Rheumatism Association. Visitors should expect sloped paths throughout and can enter from various points around the property.
The northern section holds an authentic garden design from the 1700s with original terracing, a pond, and a traditional gazebo. This rare arrangement shows how such spaces were once laid out for everyday use and enjoyment.
