Frogner stadion, Sports stadium in Frogner, Norway
Frogner stadion features an artificial ice surface during winter for speed skating and bandy, while artificial grass covers the field in summer for soccer and football.
The stadium opened on January 10, 1914, when speed skater Oscar Mathisen established two world records in the 500-meter and 1500-meter events.
Two bronze statues stand outside the stadium entrance, honoring Norwegian athletes Oscar Mathisen and Sonja Henie for their speed skating achievements.
The facility remains open to public skating sessions throughout winter, with specific zones designated for speed skating practice and recreational activities.
Athletes at Frogner stadion have established twenty-three speed skating world records, with seventeen receiving official recognition from the International Skating Union.
