Syangja District

The district spans across 1,164 square kilometers of terrain, from the Kaligandaki River banks at 300 meters to elevated mountain regions at several thousand meters.

The name originates from the Sinjali people of the Magar community, who established settlements in this region during ancient periods of Nepal's development.

Multiple ethnic groups including Brahmin, Chhetri, Magar, Dalit, and Gurung communities maintain their traditions and celebrate festivals such as Dashain, Tihar, and Teej.

Syangja connects to major cities through the Siddhartha Highway, providing access to educational institutions and commercial centers in Pokhara and Butwal.

The district leads Nepal's orange production, generating 22,000 tons in 2023, while supporting various agricultural activities including rice, maize, and millet cultivation.
