Gandaki Province

Gandaki Province is an administrative region in central-western Nepal that spans mountainous landscapes, valleys, and lakes. It stretches between the Tibetan border and Indian borderlands, encompassing diverse elevations and natural environments.

The region took its present form in 2015 during Nepal's constitutional restructuring, replacing the previous administrative system. This shift marked a major turning point in how the country organized its local governance.

The region is home to many ethnic communities like Gurungs, Magars, and Thakalis who keep their own languages, customs, and festivals alive. Walking through the villages, you encounter traditional ways of building and living that have been passed down through generations.

Pokhara International Airport serves as the main transportation hub, offering regular flights to domestic and international destinations. The varied terrain means visitors should prepare for different road conditions and travel times depending on where they want to go.

The region harnesses its water resources through numerous hydroelectric projects that generate power for the country. These installations shape the landscape and drive significant economic activity in the area.
