Stadionul CUG

Stadionul CUG is a sports stadium in Cluj-Napoca with a natural grass pitch, clay courts, and dedicated training areas. The facility includes sections for handball, athletics, and spectator seating arranged around the main playing field.

The stadium was built in the 1970s as part of a heavy machinery factory complex. Over time, the facility adapted to changing economic conditions and shifted toward training activities.

The facility transformed from an industrial sports complex to a modern training center, reflecting the city's transition from manufacturing to services.

The stadium accommodates several thousand spectators and serves as the primary training center for youth teams in the region. Multiple sports areas are well organized, allowing several activities to happen at the same time.

In 2007, the construction of Iulius Mall reduced the sports complex to 24,983 square meters, preserving only the main football field.
