Mal'ta–Buret' culture, Archaeological site in Siberia
The Mal'ta–Buret' culture is an archaeological culture of the Upper Paleolithic on the upper Angara River in the area west of Lake Baikal in the Irkutsk Oblast, Siberia, Russian Federation.
This culture dates back to between 24,000 and 15,000 years ago.
The culture is named after the Mal'ta village and Buret', where the first discoveries were made.
The site has provided a significant amount of archaeological artifacts.
The Mal'ta–Buret' culture is known for its distinctive Venus figurines.
