Molodyozhnaya, Metro station in Kuntsevo District, Moscow, Russia.
Molodyozhnaya is an underground metro station in the Kuntsevo district on the western side of Moscow. It has three vaulted sections separated by white marble columns with pink marble accents running across them.
The station opened in 1965 on the Filyovskaya Line and served the western edge of the city for decades. In 2008 it was transferred to the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line, which changed how it connects to the rest of the network.
The station's name comes from a former street in Kuntsevo that disappeared during a district reorganization in 1962. Travelers passing through carry that old street name with them without often realizing it.
The station is located where Yartsevskaya and Elninskaya streets meet, making it easy to orient yourself when you exit. Several bus routes nearby allow you to continue toward different parts of the surrounding area.
Although the station now belongs to the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line, it was originally built for a different line entirely. This is why its design feels slightly apart from the stations added later to the same line.
