Bohurcha, also known as Kamenka, sits at coordinates 44.986111N, 34.168889E, between the rivers Kamenka and Ilawla near the Black Sea coast.
The Catholic village of Kamenka was established on July 6, 1765, by settlers from Mainz, Wurzburg, and Prussian Poland, growing to 97 families by 1788.
The settlement maintains extensive genealogical records of over 7000 individuals, documenting the German-Russian families who lived in this region.
The village contains 399 farmyards, four rows of houses in a rectangular layout, constructed with stone, wood, and clay materials.
The locality features two annual fairs, Sunday markets, and supports various craftsmen including shoemakers, cabinet-makers, carpenters, tailors, and blacksmiths.
