Подчуршинское городище, Archaeological settlement in Pervomaysky, Russia
The settlement stands on a high hill above the Vyatka River, featuring strong defensive walls and three square towers with tent-shaped roofs.
Established between the 13th and 14th centuries, this fortified settlement served as a strategic outpost along the Vyatka River trade routes.
Archaeological excavations uncovered numerous artifacts including weapons, jewelry, locks, gaming dice, and Slavic-Finnic pottery, indicating a mixed cultural presence.
The archaeological site maintains regular guided tours where visitors can learn about the historical findings and ancient construction techniques.
The lower level of fortifications contained living quarters and storage spaces, while the upper level featured a gabled roof with arrow slits.
