Zheleznov's mansion

Zheleznov's mansion is a Russian Revival style house in Yekaterinburg built between 1892 and 1895. The exterior displays elaborately decorated window frames and wall ornaments, while inside exhibition rooms combine historical furnishings with contemporary cultural programming.

Merchant Zheleznov commissioned the house from architect A. B. Turchevich during the Ural region's industrial boom. The building reflects the rising wealth and status of the commercial class in late 19th century Yekaterinburg.

The mansion shows how wealthy merchants lived and decorated their homes at the end of the 19th century in this region. The rooms and their details reveal the taste and daily habits of that period.

The house sits in central Yekaterinburg and is easy to reach on foot. Interior spaces and staircases can feel narrow, so comfortable shoes are recommended for exploring the rooms and exhibition areas.
