Sahood Fort, Military fortress and palace in Al-Ahsa governorate, Saudi Arabia.
The fort features double-layered walls constructed with mud bricks, connected by palm trunks and reinforced with defensive spaces filled with mud and grit.
Built in the late seventeenth century Hijri calendar, the fort served as a strategic military structure during the rule of the Bani Khaled tribe in Al-Ahsa.
The fort incorporates traditional Arabian architectural elements, including a rectangular mosque with five pillars and a dedicated prayer niche within its walls.
The fortress maintains its military function as barracks for the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces, with specific visiting arrangements required for access.
The fort's bent entrance system includes a square surveillance room above the gate, complemented by cannon slots and a protective trench around the perimeter.
