Helenelund

Helenelund is a residential neighborhood north of Stockholm within Sollentuna Municipality that contains modern housing, local shops, and green spaces. The district spreads across several areas with different types of homes and community facilities that serve daily life.

The neighborhood developed after the railway line between Uppsala and Stockholm opened in 1866, transforming the rural land into a residential area. This railway connection was the driving force that allowed the district to grow into a living community.

The Helenelund station offers regular train connections to Stockholm and Uppsala for commuters and visitors. A new tunnel also links the neighborhood to the nearby Kista area, making it easy to travel around the region.

The neighborhood recently gained new green spaces with the Silverdal garden city area and the new Krögers ängar park that opened in 2023. These fresh outdoor areas give the older residential zone modern spaces for leisure and nature.
