Erstavik

Erstavik is a manor estate south of Stockholm at a Baltic Sea inlet, displaying 18th-century Swedish architecture. The building sits within a nature reserve and is reached through pathways that connect the grounds to the surrounding landscape.

The manor was designed by architect Jean Eric Rehn in 1765 and later acquired by merchant Herman Petersen. This connection to the Petersen family shaped the property's long history through to modern times.

The property is managed under a traditional inheritance system that has become rare in Sweden. This old way of handling estates shapes how the place looks and is cared for today.

The estate is best explored on foot using the pathways that wind through the nature reserve. Visit during dry weather when the trails are in good condition for walking.
