Rabia Skała, Mountain summit at Slovakia-Poland border
Rabia Skała is a mountain summit located on the border between Poland and Slovakia within the Western Carpathian range. It reaches approximately 1200 meters in elevation and displays distinctive limestone and rocky formations that define this section of the mountain landscape.
The mountain has served as a natural boundary marker between territories since medieval times and was a reference point along trade routes crossing the Carpathians. This historical role shaped how the landscape was used and remains visible in the paths that cross the region today.
The mountain has been a meeting point for communities on both sides of the border, shaping how people from the region understand their landscape. Visitors today notice how the location connects Polish and Slovak traditions through the way locals use the paths and gather at its base.
Marked trails lead from Zboj directly to the summit and provide access to viewpoints overlooking both countries. The routes are accessible from both sides of the border and pass through different elevation levels of the surrounding forest.
The northern limestone slopes host plant species found only in this section of the Carpathians. These rare species make the summit botanically distinctive and separate it from nearby peaks in the range.
