Villa Rose

Villa Rose is a three-story mansion in Al-Aziziyah built with distinctive pink stone and European Baroque architectural features. The structure showcases detailed exterior work and proportions typical of early 20th-century residences for wealthy families.

A wealthy merchant named Subhi Kabbabé commissioned the building in 1928 during the French Mandate period. It was converted to a maternity hospital in 1948 and served the community under Dr. Gregory Kassis.

The building's name comes from its distinctive rose-colored stone walls, which stand out among the typical limestone structures in the old merchant quarter. This visual detail has made it recognizable to locals as a landmark for generations.

The building is located in the center of the Al-Aziziyah neighborhood and serves as a landmark in the area. Visitors can view the exterior architecture clearly from the street.

In the 1960s, local residents organized to prevent the building from being demolished. This successful effort led to its recognition as an architectural heritage site and formal protection.
