Aleppo Public Park, Urban park in Aleppo, Syria
Aleppo Public Park is a hexagonal-shaped green space spanning roughly 17 hectares situated between the Jamiliyeh and Aziziyeh districts. The Queiq River runs through the grounds, creating natural water features throughout the site.
The park opened in 1949 as a gift to citizens, initiated by Majd Addin Al-Jabri, who served as the elected head of Aleppo Municipality. This establishment marked an important shift in the city's approach to public recreation and urban planning.
Sculptures by Syrian artists decorate the grounds, including monuments to emir Sayf al-Dawla and poet Khalil al-Hindawi positioned near central fountains. These figures serve as gathering points where visitors connect with the city's heritage.
The park is open daily from early morning until midnight, providing accessible recreational areas throughout the year. The level pathways allow visitors of all mobility levels to explore the different zones and water features easily.
Interactive water fountains were installed in the central area in 2006, creating moving water displays that offer an animated spectacle to park-goers. This technical addition became a focal point that contrasts with the park's traditional landscaping.
